Who we are
UP 26 Pty Ltd (ABN 50 660 101 379) trading as Taxi Transact, of Marsden Park, New South Wales, is the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect

- Authorisation details — driver identifier, plate or vehicle number, base or network affiliation, and licence or authorisation numbers.
- Financial details — bank account details for settlement, account balances, and transaction records.
- Transaction data — fare amount, surcharge, date, time, terminal identifier, approval code and batch reference. We do not store full card numbers; card data is handled by our payment processing partners under card scheme security requirements.
- Operational data — shift start and end, reports generated, and support calls.
- Website data — information about how this website is used, such as pages visited, referring pages and basic device and browser information, which may be collected through analytics and similar tools.
Why we collect it
- To open, verify and operate your account and terminal.
- To authorise, settle, reconcile and refund transactions.
- To produce shift and fleet reports for you and, where you are part of a fleet or base, for that operator in relation to your work for them.
- To detect and prevent fraud and misuse.
- To meet legal obligations, including AML/CTF, tax and record-keeping requirements.
- To provide support and to tell you about changes to the service.
Who we share it with
Only where necessary for the purposes above: acquiring banks and card schemes; identity verification providers; our technology, hosting and analytics providers; the taxi base, network or fleet operator you drive for, in relation to your work for them; professional advisers; and regulators or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information.
How we protect it
We use access controls, encryption in transit, segregation of card data to compliant processing partners, and monitoring of our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps proportionate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we keep it
Transaction and identification records are retained for at least seven years where required by AML/CTF and tax law. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, then destroyed or de-identified.
